Tama Meme, a meme coin launchpad that allows users to create new tokens in a few clicks, is now live on Ronin, the Ethereum sidechain known for its gaming focus.
Created by Moku, a developer with backing from Ronin creator Sky Mavis, Tama Meme is part of Ronin’s continued expansion under “Operation Leviosa”—an initiative to open up the previously curated Ronin ecosystem and welcome more games, applications, and decentralized finance platforms.
The platform operates similarly to Pump.fun, the Solana token launchpad that has facilitated the creation of millions of new tokens, including Fartcoin, which is now inside the top 100 crypto tokens by market cap.
Users can buy an already created token from the launchpad, or they can create their own for a fee of 1 RON (currently $1.65) in just a few steps by choosing an image, ticker, and token name.
After creation, the tokens go live on a bonding curve, increasing in market cap with each buy until it “graduates” and becomes available for trading on Katana, a decentralized exchange or DEX on the Ronin blockchain.
Since its launch on Tuesday, Tama Meme has facilitated the creation of 7,000 tokens that are now held by nearly 60,000 total Ronin wallets according to data from a Dune dashboard created by Game7 DAO data analyst, Joshua Dear.
Tokens created so far have ranged from riffs on Axie Infinity’s Smooth Love Potion and notable members of the Ronin community, to new memes like the CuteAsianGirl (CAG) token, which has jumped to a $4.3 million market cap according to GeckoTerminal.
To celebrate the launch, Tama Meme is hosting a Ratz Race competition with more than $40,000 in RON and NFT prizes.
Ronin is a gaming-centric Ethereum network popularized by games like Axie Infinity and Pixels.
As part of its Open Ronin program, the chain will also welcome the migration of the Steph Curry-backed basketball game, Rumble Kong League, which is moving from Avalanche.
